Title Carta (correo electrónico): Elucidarium de Honorius de Autun
Date / Location 2024-02-07:
Note I’m preparing an edition of the Lucidario (not Sancho IV’s) contained in a manuscript of the Biblioteca Marqués de Valdecilla, and I’m trying to quote Philobiblon, but it turns out that the entry for the work is wrong. I’m wondering if it would be possible to correct this?

Technical details:

BETA texid 1242 corresponds to the Lucidario sponsored by Sancho IV. However, one of the witnesses listed is not of this royal Lucidario, but rather of a somewhat faithful translation of Honorius of Autum’s Elucidarium (cnum 2204), completely unrelated to Sancho’s work. Since they are different works, I’m guessing this is just a mistake, and each one should have its own textid.

About the titles, the incipit of cnum 2204 also uses the title Lucidario (En el nombre de Dios e de santa María quiérovos contar de un libro que fue trasladado de latín en romance. Este libro es llamado por nombre Lucidario. , fol. 1r).

To avoid confusions, my edition is calling it Lucidario romanceado, a title that you can use for Philobiblon, if you like.
